Bulgaria represented the European project "Roman Thermal Spas of Europe" during the ITB in Berlin, Germany.
Date: 14 Mar’17

On the 8th of March, 2017 the event was opened by the Bulgarian Tourism Minister Stella Baltova, the project manager Tobias Bielenstein and Siyka Katsarova, Deputy Chairman of the Bulgarian Union of Balneology and SPA Tourism and Vice President of the European Spas Association.

The concept of this project was developed by three organizations - the European Spas Association, the German tour operator FIT Reisen and Europespa. In 2014 the work began with national partners from Spain, Greece, France, Germany, Italy, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria. Official partner of our country is the Bulgarian Union of Balneology and SPA tourism. The European Union participated in the financing. The basic idea builds on the fact that in many European countries there is a long tradition of spa and spa tourism, these countries have one thing in common and that is Roman history. It is a very important part of European cultural heritage.
