Portoroz (Slovenia), October 21-24

HiSEAS - OBOR - ESPA representation
"Marvelous weather, great hospitality, inspirational talks and professional workshop. Thank You, Portoroz."
Just one of the many reviews that perfectly describes and summarizes the 10th SPA Central-Europe B2B workshop that was taking place 21st - 24th October, in Portoroz, Slovenia.
This unique imitative supported by the European Spas Association (ESPA) summoned a total of 70 representatives of the health tourism industry. Exhibitors and suppliers from Central Europe and Balkan region and hosted buyers from all over the world were looking for new business contact in health tourism.
This year the very first time in 10 year history of SPA-CE, China was represented by HiSEAS International Tourism Group. The Chengdu-based European Destination Management Company was one of the companies from overseas market that was showing a great interest in the potential of the Central European region and its unique healing water and natural resources and tradition of spa treatments.
The presence of such a significant organization of the Chinese tourism industry was not a simple coincidence; this was a result of a recently established three-party partnership framework which was stimulated by the EU-China Tourism Year 2018. Thanks to the preparatory efforts of OBOR Culture and Tourism Development Committee, ESPA and HiSEAS launched the cooperation (project) that aims to raise the awareness for Europe's unique spa cultural heritage and sophisticated infrastructure related to health tourism as a whole segment, in China.
The project started last month, when ESPA and OBOR Committee was invited to Chengdu to participate in the EU-China Business and Trade Cooperation Fair 2018's "Visit Europe" seminar. The address speech and a presentation was promoting the new face of Europe, as a health tourism destination.
This time in Slovenia, HiSEAS Representative, Mr. Viktor Vereb presented to European spa owners and business people the recent trends in health driven outbound tourism habits in China. Mr. Vereb had also 12 B2B meetings with suppliers showing interest for chinese tourists seeking relaxation, wellness and preventive treatments, and experiencing historical spa ambient, luxury beauty treatments in a green natural panorama.
