Mr. Martin Plachy, Vice President of ESPA delivered a presentation about "Why Chinese tourists should go to European Spas". Mr. Plachy stressed the importance of distinguishing between the Chinese and European perceptions when we speak about "spa" culture, shortly describing the tradition and the methods of testing and verifying the healing power and the mineral content of the European water resources, as a core element.

During the afternoon the European Spas Association and European medical spa resorts were given the opportunity to make presentations to Chinese tour operators and help them get familiar with the unique characteristics of Europe, as a health tourism destination. In the presentation the main focus was how to pitch the unique potential of the European health tourism segment to Chinese tour operators, how to create tour products matching Chinese demands.

All representatives stressed the importance of distinguishing between the Chinese and European perceptions when we speak about "spa" culture, shortly describing the methods of testing and verifying the healing power and the mineral content of the European water resources, as a core element. We shared the main conclusions of the Chinese government's "Healthy China 2030" Plan that gives priority to prevention and favors natural remedies, a comprehensive approach that the European medical spa sector has also been promoting since long ago.

ChinaEU Digitalizastion Association, reprasented by Mrs. Claudia Vernotti was a great support in pre-organization and also during the events. ChinaEU Digitalizastion Association will support further activities with their know-how in digitization and with their special market Experience and Contacts.

The speeches were followed by B2B meetings when hosted buyers addressed dozens of intriguing questions to the European representatives, while ESPA’s Secretary General expressed their intention of setting up and coordinate an online information platform with a focus on treating cardiovascular, respiratory, psychosomatic diseases without side effects.
