BALNEOTHERAPY IN EUROPEAN HEALTH RESORTS

Balneotherapy has a long tradition in many European countries, and is an integral part of the health care system

Balneotherapy, which uses local natural resources such as natural healing water, peloids, gases, and climatic conditions for treatment, is only available at medical spa facilities that are recognized and regulated by state authorities. The treatments offered at these facilities have been thoroughly researched and approved by scientists and medical doctors. See our e-library.

Our members offer a wide range of services: physical activity and rehabilitation, healthy nutrition, relaxation and personal mental activities that enrich the traditional tourist experience in green destinations or in historical spa towns. In most European countries spa-medicine/balneology services are financed by the national health insurance companies in prevention and in rehabilitation. Fortunately, our members welcome an increasing number of private payers. In many countries, balneological interventions are being applied in complex character. The Base is th use of local natural remedies and the experience balneotherapy (thermal mineral water baths) is combined with peloidotherapy or on health resort with healing climate, drinking cures, inhalations and other balneological interventions for treating a diversity of conditions in European medical spas, which is our USP.
