The European Health Prevention Day 2024 featured a comprehensive and dynamic program designed to address the pressing challenges and opportunities in preventive healthcare. Attendees had the privilege to participate in a variety of sessions, including:

  • Lectures by Leading Experts: Esteemed speakers delivered insightful presentations on the latest advancements in preventive medicine, offering new perspectives on tackling chronic diseases, mental health issues, and lifestyle-related health problems.

One of the speakers was Iztok Altbauer, the Managing Director of the Slovenian Spas Association. He spoke about “Slovenia as a health destination – a mix of nature and Mediterranean flair”.

The “Slovenian Natural Spas” trademark represents twelve natural spas in Slovenia, recognized for their rehabilitation services using natural remedies and included in the national healthcare system. These spas emphasize a healthy lifestyle, rooted in centuries of thermal treatment traditions and expertise in balneology, climatology, and thalassotherapy. They combine traditional and modern treatments, evolving into “Thermal Medical Spas” and “Wellness Centres.” With a history dating back to the Roman Empire, Slovenia’s thermal waters and mineral waters like Radenska and Donat Mg are renowned for their healing properties, contributing significantly to the country’s tourism and recreation industry.

Beyond the formal sessions, the congress emphasized the importance of personal interactions and networking. Delegates had numerous opportunities to connect, share experiences, and explore potential collaborations. The European Health Prevention Day 2024 was not just about sharing knowledge; it was about igniting a movement towards a proactive approach to health. By focusing on prevention, the congress aimed to reduce the burden of diseases and enhance the quality of life for individuals and communities. The event highlighted the critical role of preventive measures in healthcare systems and called for integrated efforts from all stakeholders.
