The Organization of Spa Owners in Romania (OPTBR) is the sole representative body dedicated to the promotion and development of the balneary tourism industry in Romania. OPTBR supports businesses in the spa sector and works towards strengthening Romania's position as a important destination for spa treatments and wellness. Romania is the country with the richest natural healing resources in Europe: 1/3 of the mineral and thermal springs, therapeutic lakes, therapeutic muds, gases – mofettas, therapeutic salt mines, the Black Sea coast, with three natural therapeutic factors: sea waves (thalassotherapy), sand (psammotherapy) and marine aerosols.
