Participate in WHO Europe’s public hearings to help shape the future of health in Europe

WHO/Europe is kicking off a series of five pivotal hearings to explore the powerful megatrends shaping the future of health and well-being in Europe. These public hearings will explore the powerful megatrends shaping health and well-being today and tomorrow climate change, demographic shifts, health security, health systems of the future, and more. Join the conversation that connects health with our time’s broader political, social, and economic priorities. The meetings will have interpretations in English and Russian.

Hearings are the following:
– 22 January 2025: “Confronting the silent epidemic: tackling noncommunicable diseases and advancing action on mental health”
– 30 January 2025: “Ageing is living: working for a lifetime of health and well-being”
– 21 February 2025: “Health systems of the future: harnessing technology and innovation in health, for everyone, everywhere”
– 28 February 2025: “Climate change and health: shaping a resilient future”
– 7 March 2025: “Health security and emergency preparedness: building a safe and secure European Region”

Call for expressions of interest: WHO is seeking partners to look at the future of modelling for the health workforce in Europe  

WHO/Europe is convening a diverse group of experts for a 2.5-day Symposium on Health Workforce Modelling for Action at UN City, Copenhagen, 28 – 30 April 2025, where they will explore ways to advance innovative practices in health workforce modelling to support Member States as they seek to build sustainable, capable workforces for the future. To prompt this exciting discussion, we are inviting participants to submit an abstract on one of the following panel themes, outlining how the field you are working in relates to healthcare and workforce delivery: Complexity and systems thinking – how do we identify and explore uncertainty and areas of perma-crisis? Intersectoral approaches to modelling: Health systems as a safety critical’ service industry Moving from information to intelligence; Integrating qualitative and quantitative data Leadership and systemic change: Modelling in the realm of professionalisation, power structures, hierarchy and incentives Or other novel ways of modelling the health workforce of the future The deadline for abstract submissions is 31 January 2025.
